part 2/brooklyn we go hard/flight delays...

notice: amazing photobooth pictures of my sis and i got lost in bar to home transit which we are all still crying about

so, to recap the rest of my trip/life up until now:

friday: lindsay and i went to mud which is the best coffee/food cafe everrr. we talked about many things, including how our extended family is crazy. then we wander around soho-ish area, ended up on canal street and mocked the many, many insane tourists going apeshit for knock-offs. we found this overwhelming asian market that ended up having a cute windup robot. i did a really great job. later that night i had a headache so i rested for a little bit and then my sisters friend vallen came over and we went out to sushi and were loud and rowdy and drunk overall. later an attractive black guy eating mcdonalds said he thought i was good looking. highlight of my night.

saturday: this was my first EVER experience with brooklyn and...it kinda creeps me out. everyone there is trying so hard to be hip. really really hip. it also didnt help that there was a skateboard critical mass and also crazy everyone that has a band go play out on the street day. that was kinda fun. but basically everyone looks like stereotypical hipsters, and eyes you in a sultry matter as they smoke cigs and try to figure out which pair of sunglasses they should put on as they lounge in mccarren park. okay. vallen took us to this really amazing art/furniture store, which had incredibly cool stuff, but also was incredibly expensive. and also i could make about 50% of the stuff there. like a necklace with chewed gum as a charm. i can make that and not spend $150 dollars on whatever asshole came up with it. anyways. i called up damien, my friend from the anarchist book store i met the summer before and ended up watching a bunch of the bands with him and his friend richard. we walked down to the water and just chilled for a bit. turns out the book store is gone now, which i somewhat noticed as i walked by the theater that used to house it the day before. sad :( later my sister and i got drinks and met up with her boyfriend at probably the best restaurant in brooklyn ever. its called the lodge and served all local/in season food. we ended up walking home over the williamsburg bridge which was fun and iconic. it made me feel like joseph stella/waking life.

sunday: sis and vallen and i went to teeny for brunch, which is basically like remedy teas except owned by moby. and also they have alcohol/a lot of vegans there. food was extremely delicious and that place is always fun every time i go. its another laura/lindsay tradition to hit up. i got an edamame hummus and avocado sandwich and hibiscus rose mint tea. yummm. after we wandered around more, looked in some shops, and i ended up getting amazing high waisted jeans at uniqlo. yay. then it was getting close to when i need to leave so we went back to her place and i got all ready. then tragedy struck, as i got to the airport, and turns out my flight was canceled. because they thought there might be a chance of storms. ackksh. which means when i joked about making the last flight of the day and how i had school on monday, i was a total idiot. luckily my sister saved my life and went online right when i called her and made new reservations coming out of la guardia the next morning. which meant i had to go back to her place at about 9pm, and leave for the next flight at about 4:30am on monday. and i had to go through milwaukee. which i didnt even know where that was. but luckily that flight went fairly well and i got into seattle at about noon on monday (even though summer school started at 10am :/) josh picked me up once again which was really sweet of him, and i hung out with him until 1:30 when i walked into class, still disheveled and having to be the bitch girl that was like, "sorry i couldn't make it to class on time, i just flew in from new york". ehhh. oh well. what i remember of class was pretty good.

tonights plans&life so far: take pictures with jason for hw, dinner with tim, and maybe film forum with claire and brittney. gosh i love me some anime sometimes.
