I'm sure no one is on livejournal any more, but when I have unusual dreams I like to write them down in a place where months or years later I can come back and read them, having no recollection of ever having that dream in the first place.
So last night I had several dreams that ran together. The first involved me transferring to the University of Texas while living with my mother in AZ. I guess at the time of transfer I thought that TX and AZ were closer than they actually are and that I could simply drive to class? And somehow not Transferring to the UA instead meant I wasn't giving in and admitting defeat in WI. Well, after the deed had been done I realized that I would have to live in Texas, because it's a 15-20 hour drive, pretty much defeating any reason for why I would transfer (being close to friends and family in AZ). So I became upset and I wanted to go back to Marquette, thinking that my life in WI wasn't so bad after all.
This dream sort of meshed with another dream in which a group of people including myself took up the casual sport of wheel chair racing in urban areas despite the fact that I and several other people could walk. I believe that this occurred at or near UT. At one point we find a down sloping ramp that ran along a set of steep stairs. It was separate from the stairs and lined by cement and a fence, I guess so pedestrians couldn't get into the ramp area. This ramp was specifically designed for a wheel chair type of "ride" where if you had a wheel chair you would go down this steep ramp, and it was essentially intended as a roller coaster because it was so steep and fast. So, I went first. It was rather steep and narrow at first. Then it got wider to the point of appearing as a large 5-lane tunnel. Little kids had games set up. I managed to avoid them and got to the end. The end of the ramp opened up to a hospital. To get back up to the top I took the stairs up... which was populated with a lot of people and was also a part of the hospital. I ran into my sister along the way, who was working and who gave me a raised eyebrow type of look as I ascended the stairs to take my wheel chair ride again.
Then I moved on to a shorter dream about my mom having secretly renovated the house to contain another complete house on a hidden basement floor. It was difficult to get to that floor, and I happened upon it on accident. I don't remember much of the bottom floor except that it had a smaller kitchen, and it opened up to the carport.
It was very difficult to wake up this morning
