Yakuza 4 is in my Playstation and installing. Which is awkward because I'm going to have to go play rent and sleep off some of my debt for the last few weeks first. Meanwhile: as much as I might be wobbly on their coverage, the
previews are still the best part of Random Curiosity's site.
Short version because it's early and I'm tired as hell and going to bed soon:
* X-Men is going to have to be watched if only to ensure that it's as completely balls-to-the-wall batshit as Wolverine and Iron Man were. Also, I am completely incapable of typing Wolverine first time; it comes out as Wolvering. I expect this show to be categorically worse, though, as it is missing one (1) Wolverine Mullet.
* DOG DAYS is by the Nanoha group, who are a bunch of guys who can take moe anime and make it tolerable and even badass. Might be worth watching, I guess, though it really doesn't look very good at present.
* Sunrise appear to be on something for Tiger + Bunny and I'm not sure what. More than usual, I mean. It might be worth watching just for the bizarre look it sports, but I'm not told on Sunrise's ability to pull something experimental out of their ass.
* Nichijou instantly poked my attention: KyoAni do Azumanga? Certainly they have the pedigree for dumb slice of life shows, though my biggest feeling is that it might end up too ponderous.
* Toriko is going to need watching
* Fireball Charming hardly counts as a series because it's so damn short - a series of barely minute-long shots - but the original Fireball was charming as hell and almost universally loved.
* Hahahaha oh god there's a Koihime Musou: Sengoku edition now. I might just have to at least look up information on Sengoku Otome if only so that I can laugh really, really hard.
* I would get excited about the new Kaiji anime, but I never saw the first one to my shame. Not to mention: where the fuck is Akagi, damn it?
* Steins;Gate might actually be worth watching. It has nothing to do with Chaos;Head whatsoever, is reasonably critically acclaimed in Japan, and is being done by the Katanagatari team. I am okay with all of that, and the story looks pretty neat and twisty.
* Hyouge Mono (or the impossibly badass 'Tea for Universe, Tea for Life' is a Bee Train thirty-nine episode series about tea. Uh. I can't honestly imagine what will specifically happen in it, but I might have to give that a go.
* I'm guaranteed to at least try Denpa Onna because it's SHAFT, but I have to admit that the previews immediately made me think of Arakawa and I doubt we're going to be seeing any new ground here. Not that I particularly mind, since I'll happily tread old ground. Of course, Maria-Holic 2 is immediately on my list.
* Ao No Exorcist has convinced me, via previews in gg's episodes of Star Driver, to give it a try. The animation looks good, it seems like they have a handle on the action.
* C-Control is going to be badass as fuck. It is a shonen fighting series where economics control a shadowy parallel demonic world, and the main character sells his soul to have a stake in it. You fight with 'assets' i.e. your demonic partners, there's a lot of tongue-in-cheek stuff ('The rules of this place have nothing to do with the real world.') and it all looks like it's going to me like some ridiculous version of Kaiji but with hotblooded monetary terms rather than hotblooded gambling. Also y'know it's written by the Durarara/Baccano guys, no biggie.
