1. I can't sleep again (oh joy). I swear, one day soon I'm going to sleep for more than 3 hours and it's going to be glorious.

2. So, um, I rewatched the finale again, and while I usually skip to bits that I like (so I only watch about 20% of the episode and it's all companion related bits) today I watched the Bad Wolf Bay scene. Yeah, I don't why I ( Read more... )

totaly forgot about it, what with everything else about that scene that I wanted to scream at. And then, FOR SOME REASON IDEK WHY, I rewatched it and I was like, WTF ROSE?

Oh, I noticed it first time around.

Lalla's an awesome Romana and I love her a lot... but I want Keeley for Romana 3. I just think she'd be awesome and I kinda love her and it would be just the best thing ever if Romana was brought back.

It would fantastic if Romana came back, true - and I think I'd trust Moffat to do a better job of bringing her back than Rusty. I don't know Keeley, I'm afraid, on account of not watching much TV...

If it doesn't win I'm throwing a fanbrat tanrum (yeah, yet another one) but it NEEDS to win. The writing was OMGAWESOME and everyone was so damn good in that episode and The Family creeped me out so bad and those scenes where David switched? BLEW ME AWAY. And then of course, Paul Cornell loves Martha Jones and he's very vocal about it so it makes me love him even more. And someone who's not Moffat should win this time (I love The Moff but...) so yeah, it just needs to.

Agreed! I love Blink, but HN/FoB is the better episode(s)! David was fantastic playing two very different characters, Freema was awesome too, and it was a good ensemble cast as well. Please to be winning Mr C!!

Oh, she's awesome in basically everything she's been in. I've only ever seen her in Ashes To Ashes, Spooks and Tipping the Velvet. She really would be a fantastic Romana. Sophia Myles woud also have been awesome had she not been Reinette, because I loves her too.

Please to be winning Mr C!!

EVERYTHING will be crossed on this end.

Hmm. I wonder if the library has Tipping...

I confess I've only seen her in GitF - on account of the aforementioned lack of TV watching!

EVERYTHING will be crossed on this end.

Ditto!

Sorry to thread-jump, but I wanted to say that I highly recommend Tipping the Velvet if you can find it, Pers.

I love Keeley, between seeing her in Tipping and in The Last September (kissing DT -- OMG!), I really, really, really want to see her in Ashes to Ashes.

Oh! I'm pretty sure I've got The Last September around here somewhere... *shuffles through stack of DVDs* Yes I have!! Eee!

A lot of my friends didn't like Last September (I showed it during a "movie night"), but I really do (it's one of my favorites with DT).

I'm weird about really liking period-y films though (it's set during The Troubles) and the director had a stage background so she put in lots of good actors in it (like David, Keeley, Michael Gambon, Maggie Smith, Fiona Shaw, etc).

That's exactly the sort of film I'd enjoy!

Here is a link to a trailer for it on IMDB (it should work):
http://www.imdb.com/video/screenplay/vi3220504857/

David's got a bit of a barmy moustache in the role (much like he did when he was in Bright Young Things), but I still love him in it (I have this weird thing for when he plays docile, blundering, heartsick men -- it just makes me want to snuggle him).

I've seen the moustache - made me giggle!

I'm going to try to watch TLS this weekend...

Oh, thread-jump all you like and especially if it's to rec awesome stuff like that.

Keeley Hawes is pretty much made of pure win and if you ever have chance, I'd rec Ashes To Ashes like, a thousand times over (and Life On Mars because John Simm and Phillip Glenister and the rest are so wonderful in that I think that's one of the best tv shows ever made, just sayin')

I'm just now getting through Life on Mars (I'm about 5 episodes into S1) and, to be honest, part of the reason I am finally watching it is to see Ashes to Ashes -- LOL!

I've really been liking LoM though, so I'm glad I finally took the plunge! :)

Life On Mars is pretty perfect (I got fairly obsessed and bought it on DVD, hee) and I was expecting to hate Ashes To Ashes to be honest. I watched it for Keeley and Phil and the rest but really, I was expecting it to just be a weaker version of the mother show. BOY WAS I WRONG. It stands alone so well and it's awesome sometimes I even think I like it more than LoM.

And for the record? Episode 5 of S1 is one of my very favourites. It's been my "falling asleep episode" for about 3 weeks now (random unnecessary fact about me: I can't fall asleep very well - insomniac - but to fall asleep at all I need a DVD playing in the background.)
