Babylon 5, "Infection", episode 4, season 1

Well, since I still have time on my hands, and can't pass up an episode called "INFECTION", I decided to forge ahead.

So here we have Garibaldi with frizzy haired blond who seems to be giving him some ATTITUDE...

Garibaldi--it's either an aphrodisiac or floor wax...Heh!

Cable news lady is kind of cranky pants.  LOL at the methane breathers.

Cute doctor dude!  Ducky!!!!!  it's David McCallum!

Well this guy looks like a Han wannabe...and Hanwannabe.  Hmm...a smuggler?  Possibly an intellent virus?

No god like aliens, no nemza-memza viruses....anytime a customs guy gets mugged (killed) you know it's bad.  And cable news lady is on the scene.

"which medical school did you go to, Dr Garibaldi?"

Archaeologists! Have they not seen The Mummy?  Or Rygel's grave robbing?  Or Raiders?  These things never end well.

LIVING SHIPS IN THE VACUUM OF SPACE!!!!  Machine technology and living tissue!  Vorlons have them!  A blue print for living machines!

Okay, I shouldn't be this excited...BUT I AM!!  Also, I think Stephen is about to be the Dr. Frankenstein of space ships.

Oh, ambition...

He just opened a Pandora's box,,,and now he's walking around all spacey..and is turning into something else....

The corporation conversation reminds me of Avatar; I can see where a lot of shows grabbed from Babylon 5.  Great conversation regarding corporatism/science.  Kind of reminds me of With Morning Comes Mistfall...

Has no one noticed that the guy is missing?  The Hanwannabe?  And there's our human/leviathan hybrid...

So, anyone notice that Ducky is LYING!?

Ivavnova:  "Don't. You're too young to experience that much pain..."  So the reporter walks away.

Not good!  Nazi machines!  and The Terminator!

I see shades of DNA Mad Scientist; obviously this is first.  Sinclair's a little off his nut here; I'm gong to guess that reporter lady will end up impressed.  Alas, he's back to being a little over the top.  Quite a speech but, I have to admit, I'm left with a little of this:

  as in, that was easy!

So now we're back to Stephen realizing that his mentor is kind of a douche.  Greed, is it?  Yep.  Ducky, Ducky, Ducky...

Poor Sinclair...I disagree.  He looks pretty damned good, right now. Garibaldi's chewing him out for playing the hero.  So...Garibaldi gives us a nice measure of Sinclair's character.  Good.  He's calling Sinclair on his "heroism".  Nicely done.  Here you think you've got the typical square jawed, man of action hero and Garibaldi's called him on it. Nice twist!

Overall, I was thinking 2.5/5 but I'll move to 3/5 because of that last exchange between G and S.  Not to mention, Stephen's take on history, on fanaticism...Lots of big stuff here.

Space exploration? yes or no. I really wish hubby was watching this, because Sinclair's last speech?  *sniff*  I found it kind of moving...

It's those final little touches that kick this show up a notch.
