Happy Canadian Independence Day!
I spent the majority of yesterday cleaning like a banshee, doing loads of laundry, dusting the upstairs and cleaning up all the little messes that had accumulated in the corners like drifts of sand. It's carried over this morning, where we've been doing all sorts of DIY projects, like hanging up my diploma, putting my Limoges light switch plate up, and other things of that ilk. It's good that we're getting it all taken care of, as we've been busy recently and we're certainly going to be busy this month.
I'm hoping to really get things squared away around here, as I'll be out of town for a good two and a half weeks this month. If I can get everything cleaned, put away and organized this weekend and keep it that way, it'll make going away a lot easier. I'm already starting to sweat over what outfits to pack, making jewelry to match, how to pack everything I need without ending up looking like the Hunchback of Notre Dame...Going on vacation is a lot of work!
In the meantime, I'm trying to get into a good routine of exercising, since I'll be spending a good portion of my vacation either riding in a car or sitting in a conference room. Going to Gettysburg and New York will be good exercise, especially since I'm too cheap to take a cab when things are within walking distance. Other than that, though, lots of long drives will mean finding a way to get some exercise in or, at the very least, working out hard now to (hopefully) keep in shape while I'm out and about.
All right, enough about that! I'm off to do more cleaning, etc.
