back for a minute

i got my life in order today. rent, credit card, phone bills, all paid up. such a lifted burden. i can breeeeeaaaatthhe now.

after paying rent, i sat in a coffee shop for three hours, nursing a cold cup of coffee to work on a story. i got the idea from my visit to the paris catacombs. i think it's pretty creepy. i hope it gets finished before halloween.

oh yea, break was amazing. ireland, paris, and madrid.

highlights:
ireland~not as great as i hyped it to be. i think i should go to a more rural part. anyway, learned a lot about dublin writers, saw the general post office where IRA leaders holed up during the easter uprising, and saw some IRA heroes' graves. it was a very historical trip. i sent my dad some soil from saint stephen's green. did see some amazing music, which validated the trip.

paris~everything! standing at the top of the eiffle tower, looking down at the world below is the most thrilling feeling. also, saw jim morrison's, oscar wilde's, etc. graves, some art (not the louvre, it was CLOSED!), the notre dame, the champs elysee, the sacre courte, and crazy fans there for the rugby world cup.

madrid~saw a really good friend fmo high school, and experienced the spain night life: utterly ridiculious. saw a castle, acueducts in segovia, and picasso's guenica, which i've wanted to see since kindergarden. it was awe-inspiring.

back at home, i'm ready to start fresh. in fact, i just did my laundry today, so i mean that quite literally.

also learning some flight of the conchords songs. when i get back, i'll be ready to tackle racism in ithaca.

miss you all.

and GO SOX!!!!!!
