and today was my very first wine tasting event, up in sonoma county (bordering napa). i have never had so much, or so many different types, of wine in one day, not to mention such a myriad of delectable cheeses (yum!). the weather was nothing less than perfect, in the low 70s and slightly breezy as i drove with my aunt and cousin from winery to winery, tasting some grapes right off the vine and some wines right from the barrel (i never knew it could taste so different! what an education...).
tomorrow my cousin's going back up to the valley to hit some more vineyards, but i think i'm going to pass in favor of hiking on angel island-- not to mention getting together all the ingredients for my thanksgiving dishes. hmph, so much for skipping cooking duties just because i'm not in new york.
lately, the ocean and the sky have been my only comfort and support.
i am inspired, and i miss.
