Himself called around 1800 last night to report he was in Illinois, so my estimate that he was in Missouri yesterday was obviously off.
I am not especially happy with this as (a) I'm not sure how many days he added on to the one-way trip (it was supposed to be 13-20 September, but he realized by this past Wednesday he'd need a few more days thanks to hangups with the landlord), (b) he hadn't called since Thursday because he apparently decided to save money by sleeping at rest stops and such instead of motels, and (c) I am already grumpy enough because I haven't seen him in a month and I'm terribly jealous that he got that much time without having to be responsible for Laurel.
I know I shouldn't complain because I did get 24 hours off from her last weekend when
karaksindru and I went down to
ass_' birthday party and I then hung around with James for the afternoon, but his semi-regular calls updating me on the things he'd done with Jake and places he went out to made me wish fiercely that I could go out that often. Next time Tea's in the area, I'd like Himself take her for a night so I can enjoy some alone time with the other half of my brain.
On that note, I should get back to working on the Cougar Pride stuff -- they've offered to pay me for the Duck Derby work and to do flyers for the Mountain Youth Festival, although I have no idea what to charge beyond the $10 I paid for a month of unlimited PDF conversions through Adobe's website. If anyone wants to know what I've done to suggest a range, drop me an e-mail. I'll post screenshots of all the flyers after they've gone to print.
I've mostly beaten down that cold I caught last week, but now it's thoroughly set itself in my head (it's better than having no voice Friday) so I want to vent my right maxillary sinus until it stops feeling like my head is going to explode. *sigh* Must remember call the doctor this week and see if I can get more phenergan before my Tricare coverage lapses so I can make it through if my sinuses decide to continue this discomfort for more than a week. Also need to apply for Laurel to get CHP+ (Colorado's low-income health insurance for children) until we either pick up Tricare again after he goes Guard or I land a position with affordable health insurance. I'm betting on the former being more likely since hardly anyplace is hiring up here for full-time positions and the last full-time position I interviewed for had no benefits (but it would have rocked because they use Macs and I swear by one of their best-known products).
