Laurel's had trouble not losing sunglasses this year, so we picked up a Chums Original retainer for her sunglasses. In addition to holding them more securely than sunglasses retainers we've tried before, they make her sunglasses easy to find if she decides to take them off in the car ( Read more... )

Emily always, always, always did better in pretty panties she loved than plain old boring ones. Does Laurel pick out her own panties?

She's been picking out "big girl" panties since before she turned 3, but until recently she hasn't shown that she can tell when she has to pee. I bought the Pampers Feel 'n Learn training pants for her to help her with that since our previous tries with washable training pants have been less than pleasant.

With Amber, we took her straight from diapers to underwear. Or "big girl wears" as she likes to call them. After just a couple accidents, she realized how uncomfortable it is to have wet underwear and in couple days was fully potty trained. That and when she went in the potty everyone in the house started dancing and giving her praises. She LOVED that, of course....we looked like a bunch of idiots...lol.

I tried washable training pants when Laurel showed interest in using the potty, but I don't think she could tell when she had to pee and it was rather unpleasant for both of us. She's been pooping in the potty pretty consistently this year and gets a sticker for every successful potty use, with the incentive of going swimming if she does more than two a day. What worked for my little sister was M&Ms for each potty use, so I guess I just have to find what really works for Laurel.
