One year old!
Yesterday was Ren's one year adoption date. We never did anything special for Ash and Smokey's one year anniversary but we thought we would start with Ren. Paul and I made a birthday cake for the little guy. It consisted as bread "cake", yogurt "frosting", covered with carrot shavings and apple shavings, and finally topped off with one yogurt drop treat for one year.
We let Ren just go at it in the beginning. He seemed to panic that foodstuff was sticking to his hands. That's something he's never experienced before, haha. He was a bit overwhelmed with the whole cake so we sliced it up and gave each hamster a slice. It was a big hit! They were all hesitant at first probably because of the messiness of it. They kept giving themselves baths and by the next morning it was all gone. Happy Birthday, little guy!
