Life has been all over the map for me since my last post. First off, I lost 6 pounds last week. OMG! I don't even know how I did that. I was just following program and adding to my exercize a bit. But it was still nice to see a loss that big, though. I now weight 268.4. Since it was the beginning of the month, I also measured my waist (47.5 inches) and my body fat, which was a startling 54%. Yikes! Gotta work on that.
After this nice loss, I figured I'd go try on some clothes to see if I've dropped a size or not (my clothes have been looser). I've lost 15.8 pounds from my highest weight - I was hoping to see something. But alas, the 22's didn't fit me. I'm still a size 24 :-(. Since I've almost reached my original Christmas goal (to be in the low 260's), I think I need to restate that goal. I think my new goal will be to be a size 22 or smaller by Christmas. I want to make sure I'm actually losing girth with this weight-loss (i.e. Fat) and not just water and muscle. I gotta slow my loss down to 1-2 pounds per week to make sure I'm doing just that.
Anyway, as you can probably guess, I have lost my job. I am officially unemployed. It's a bummer and a huge blow to my self-esteem to basically be terminated.
But lastly, I have some terrific news! I went to my endocrinologist today. (I have a thyroid condition and am insulin resistant, so I'm at risk for developing diabetes type II). My blood pressure (which was normal-high) is now normal-low. My thyroid meds are working properly, the vitamins he checks me for were in the proper ranges and last but not least, my sugars have improved. IMPROVED! Just a moderate weight loss and an increase in physical activity and my risk for developing diabetes is lowered. Amazing! Weight Watchers is right when they say just losing 10% of your body weight can improve your health (I never believed them before). I've lost less than that and my health is so good now I don't need another check up for 6 months! And yes, the doctor is proud of my weight loss! :-) So am I.
