Last weekend saw Ade's birthday party / gig in Sheffield.
Leaving Sheffield train station, I headed up the hill to my hotel, running in to ??? who told me that many of us were meeting in the Sheffield Tap (pub next to the station). On the way to the hotel, I passed Penelopes (the club where the party would be); even knowing where it was, the entrance wasn't obvious.
After dropping my stuff at the hotel, I realised that I could go round the hill back to the station, without going up it.
Met a lot of people at the pub next to the station (the Sheffield Tap), sitting next to the microbrewery stills.
Heading to Penelopes, I was very glad to be with a group. Not just for the help in finding the club, but also because we were guided up shortcut (a staircase in a car park) rather than having to go the long way up the hill.
A great time catching up with lots of people who I haven't seen since M'era Luna, and a few who I haven't seen since Whitby.

After the first band (the good but still-unnamed mystery guests), I nipped back to the hotel to change from t-shirt in to a shirt. It turned out to be a useful detour - I gave directions to four lost goths on the way back.
Sunday morning was a refreshing surprise - unlike down-south, the shops don't need to open on Sundays. I took a stroll to find out where the Resistanz Festival's venue is, and stopped in the pub to see if anyone was there before heading back home.
