eggs
I have not been checking the coop for eggs. It is winter and the chickens have not been laying. I have been going into the coop feeding them and giving them water. Today I went in and saw an egg on the ground, then another. I ran inside in excitement to show Jay. Then I called my mom to tell her. I still had to fix something in the coop so I went back outside. I turned my head and see a pile of eggs on one of the upper boxes. I folded up my shirt and began to pile them in, some brown ones all different sizes and some large white ones, and a broken one that I put in the compost. I got inside and checked to make sure they were still good. It has been cold enough that they were. I found an egg carton and placed them all in. A dozen eggs! They must have been laying for a few days...
I made a box of brownies and had a fried egg sandwhich for lunch. Yum.
