Tonight I decided to rent some movies. I got "The Wedding Date" and "Crash." I noticed that "Me and You and Everyone We Know" is out now. I have to get that next time. LR said it's a great movie. So I figure if I watch it then I'll have to call him and let him know. I need an excuse to call him, because who knows when we'll talk again.
My plan was to rent Star Wars Episode II. I even picked it up, but then I couldn't do it. I put it back on the shelf and got "The Wedding Date" instead. What is my problem? Seriously. I'm such an idiot. Why can't I get over this??
Anyway, at least "The Wedding Date" was cute. I actually considered calling an escort service a few years ago when I needed a date for my friend's wedding. I doubt I would have gone through with it, and luckily I ended up meeting a guy about a month before the wedding. Oh my, he was an awful dancer. He just ran in place (I am not kidding). We broke up a few days later. But at least I had a date for the wedding! (that sounds awful, I know)
In the movie, Kat (Debra Messing) asks Nick (Dermot Mulroney) about something he said in an article: "Every woman has the love life she wants." She asks him if he believes that. He says yes. Kat's response is exactly what I was thinking: "Do you honestly believe that I want to be single and miserable?"
So very, very true.
Nick's response: "Yeah, when you're ready to let go, when you're ready to be un-single and un-miserable, you will."
Whatever you say, Demot Mulroney. If only it was that easy. If only I was as beautiful as Debra Messing.
Anyway, if all goes well, I'll be meeting up with 2 guys next weekend who I've been talking to through Yahoo personals. And then that is it. I can't afford to keep up with that anymore, especially since I'm not having any luck with it lately.
