So it's been a while my fine friends. I hope that you have all be well. How have I been you might ask? AMAZING. I got home from my class in the Florida Keys just in time it seems since one week later we have.. dum dum dum.. Hurrican Dennis. I had an awesome freaking time down in the Keys and still can't believe that I got 4 hours of credit for a class in which I did nothing but snorkel and scuba dive. It was brilliant. I have decided that marine biology is my definite place in life and am glad that I finally feel as though I know where I am going. My path is sown it should be very easy to follow it now.
Other than getting home from class, I have been helping mom around that house. First it was painting my room now it is getting new carpet and this week I have to tear down the wallpaper. The house is changing! My room looks awesome so far, I still have alot to do. I dont have anything on the walls yet but I love my new furniture and the new color. It makes me happy to be in it!
My buddy Graceann came home for the summer the same week I did so since the 4th of July we have been keeping each other busy. She has gotten me into this phenomenon called Greek canvases. All it entails is the purchase of small canvases which you paint with your greek letters or somebody elses.. very girly.. but very fun. So I am addicted.
We have also been going to concerts. Last weekend I saw a band I cannot remember the name of, The Caesars, Stereophonics and Cake all in one night and for FREE. This past Saturday, I skipped seeing Weezer for Free (ya I know it hurt me too) and paid instead to see a band called World Leader Pretend, Isley and Hot Hot Heat. It turned out to be one of the best concerts I have ever been to. SO MUCH FUN. Hot Hot Heat has one of the greatest lead singers. He really knew how to turn the crowd on and the music was fantastic! So now I have 4 new favorite bands, The Caesars, Hot Hot Heat, The Killers, and The Shout Out Louds. If you like Mr. Brightside you are for sure going to like them all!! I am currently trying to recruit World Leader Pretend to play at Jamnesty. They werent the most professional but they were very corny and played well making them fun to watch. I am also scheduled to go see Better Than Ezra this Thursday at the Roxy here in Atlanta. I am also hoping to talk my friends into going to Eddie's Attic, a bar downtown, just to check out the local talent. What can I say, I am truly addicted! Maybe I can talk someone into seeing Vertical Horizon and Pat McGee just for shits and giggles. I also want to go see Switchfoot, and Spoon for FREE on Saturday. Hopefully it will all happen, can you imagine that much music in 3 days!? I can.
On Saturday or Sunday I am leaving with Graceann and Ashley Skiles to go visit Cassie in Charleston where we will spend a splendid week catching up. Then I only have 2 more weeks until soccer starts! YAY! Cept' it means I have to get my nose to the grindstone. I truly can't wait for school to start though I have a feeling that I will quickly burn out. With 18 hours, soccer, and greek stuff, I dont know if I will ever get to slow down. Hopefully I will have at least ONE weekend to spend at the beach.
Much love,
Ashley
