Snow

Because Everyone Is Asking:

Everyone has been asking me and it's the talk of the message boards that I belong to, how is the snow up in Erie? Ha, good question. (Btw, the pic is from my sophomore year of college outside my dorm building.)

I just went and looked for myself at 8:35pm. Looks like we have more snow than pictured above, for it almost completely covered all the grass around here. It's very pretty though. The picture is prolly what it did this morning when the Turkey Trot was going on.

For those of you not from around here, it's an annual tradition down at the pennisula. It's a 5K Run/Walk at the butt crack of dawn. Actually prolly closer to 8am though. They said over 2,000 people participated this year. I have no idea who it benefits though. Sorry. I didn't watch all of the news.

So I flipped on the tv at Mom's and was going to watch the last 5 minutes of the Macy's parade. I saw Kermit come flying down the street and then I see flags. Great!! A marching band right before Santa comes out. Lo and behold...It's Lassiter High School Marching Band from Marietta, Georgia. That school's marching band rocks. I had the privaledge of seeing them win the 1997 or 1998 BOA Grand Nationals in Indianapolis, IN. Sorry it was one of the last years Central went to Indy, I don't remember. But anyways, this band came out of no where and beat all the top bands in the nation including Kiski Area. They got alot of flack for it too. I remember when they won, I wrote to BOA and to the school congratulating the band on their victory. They were really the best band there that day. At the time, I even had a friend that I met from the Lassiter band in the marching band chat room on AOL. On tv they sounded great. Just like I remembered them. They have really come along, and they got new uniforms already. I'm so jealous that they got to introduce and play for Santa the whole way of the parade. Only special bands get to do that. So, we know how special they are now. :)

After that it was flipping between the dog show, football, and I later discovered DCI Finals were on. But in a house full of football fans, I quickly got overridden. However, I did get to see Santa Clara's drum line warm up. ;)

I'm going to go back to my college lingo and say that Thanksgiving dinner was "special". Annie, Cassie, Chris, and Christine will understand completely. Having Rick's granddaughter there made it that way. Talk about a spoiled brat. Patches, poor cat, hissed and everything at Alyssa. Eh, serves Alyssa right. Shouldn't bother a cat that is 12 or 13 years old. She doesn't play anymore. Alyssa wanted nothing to do with the food that was prepared today. The only thing she ate was the crossaints and maybe a little corn. She eats turkey, potatoes, and everything else, but just wouldn't eat them today. Every minutes I had to hear, "I don't want that!, No!, Yucky!, I don't like that!, and other stupid things. The whole time I was thinking, "God, I hope I wasn't like that when I was growing up." However, I knew not to act out at the table or at the guests, or I would get slapped when the guests weren't looking. The difference in parenting styles amazes me. I hope Kyan doesn't turn out like Alyssa did. That 3 year old is bad with an attitude to match.

Oh well, me and kids I guess still don't get along. Well, I can't say that cause Cameron and I are fine, and I love Kyan. But Ky's not old enough yet for me to form an opinion on yet.

thanksgiving, snow
