Stuff
January 20th
The great thing about cell phones is that every once and awhile you let yours die. Which mean they have to be turned off and charged. Or in my case, I put mine on silent and it was being charged in the other room. I sat around my apartment today and watched movies. I went outside to check the mail and I found Stan (one of our maintainence men) outside with the shovel finally shoveling off the walk between my back door and the parking lot. I called last night at 2am and bitched to the answering machine about how the snow hasn't been removed in the past two snow storms. Anyways, like I said I enjoyed my day off. After three movies, I came in the bedroom and picked up my cell phone. There was a missed call with a message. I checked the number and it was Outback. Damn, and opps. Seems they wanted me to come and work in ToGo tonight cause Ryan was sick again, and he took meds and they were making him drowsy. Too bad I didn't get this message until 10:10pm. Funny thing, though...whenever there is something wrong with Ryan he normally calls me himself or texts me. That didn't happen today. Hmm, I could of used that extra day this week too. Though according to the Key, she said Ryan would switch a shift with me. Screw that...he already got scheduled too many shifts this week..I would of stole it.
Speaking of work, I didn't want to bore anyone, but I should write what happened yesterday when I got my schedule for this upcoming week. For the past three schedules Ryan has been getting more shifts than I. So, I asked Phil what was up. He had no clue, and said that he would talk with Kerrie. I told him don't bother, just give me the alcohol and wine test so I could become a server. He said that he would rather not. He said he already knew how much I didn't want to become a server, and actually giving me something that I didn't want to do, is counterproductive. I told him, well something needs to be done cause I went from having 5-6 shifts a week down to 3-4. Phil asked me if I would like to start Prepping. Hello!! Anyone remember when I asked him about doing the exact same thing about 3 months ago?? He told me he thought I was joking. Why would I ask to do something important like that and not follow through with it. He seems to think that I have this slacker mentality. If by some chance that I do start this prep job, I won't be online late at night anymore. That job starts at 8am every morning, and earlier on Saturdays and Sundays. Whooo!!
