'This Kid I Once Knew' by Minnow
is Calvin and Hobbes fic of the best kind. Ita Susie Derkins fic during her last year in college, when she crosses paths again with Calvin in a way she didn't expect. Exactly the right balance between nostalgia and optimism, C&H typical humor and the reality of them being grown-ups, nicely put into perspective through the eyes of Susie. It makes me all happy to think that growing up could be like this for Calvin (and Hobbes).
