Why are parents such idiots?

Why are parents so stupid? Why do people throw things out without thinking!? Avout 3 years ago I had so many books in my room, that my grandparents packed them into about 3 cardboard boxes and put them up in the attic. I was going through a list on Wikipedia of books that our out of print, and realized that more than half of the book I owned were out of print.
I got excited and immediately started bugging my grandfather to go up in the attic and pull the boxes out so I could go through them. He finally went up there today...
And can't find the boxes.
My grandmother said that she thought we gave them away.
I, being the bookworm I am, flipped out- How could you sell these without telling me!? Did she know that most of those books were out of print?
They didn't seem to get that this was a big deal- Did they even know what "out fo Print" meant!?
My grandmom got pissed, yelling at me for being upset over this!
I told her that some of those Goosebumps books I had were out of print, she, sneeringly, goes, "Well why don't you get on the internet and see? I bet you'll find hem!"
Do you NOT get it!? Of course I'll find them! Find them out of print!
