*After two solid days of rain and wind, the storm has finally abated. The sky no longer looks quite as dark and threatening, although light grey clouds remain hanging over the area. The yellow-green sparks that you may have seen leaping across roofs and between the clouds have vanished, as well.*

The storm may have lasted only two days instead of three, but Rem still sensed something strange in the air. This required investigation, no matter what. This was the exact reason he was wandering through town, looking for anything out of the ordinary.

Of course, Rem could fall into that category quite easily. Instead of a tall, gray man walking down the street, there was a large black housecat trotting down the sidewalk. A necklace with a red gem hanging around his neck, which might attract attention, but he didn't care. He was just so... curious! Now what was that old adage...?

Rem's white eyes went wide at the sight of the mote. Now that was what he was looking for! He trotted over to it and stood up on his hind legs, reaching up to bat at it with one paw.

If Rem had breath, it would have been taken away. Suddenly it felt like he had all the answers about this town's current strangeness. He knew where to go, and he knew what he had to do. How he acquired this knowledge didn't matter - but now the motes no longer interested him.

Blinking a few times, Rem darted off down another street, seeking out an abandoned house that he knew would be there.
