as a proud montrealer, my natural instinct was to take one last puff and flick it out the window while pulling up to a police blockade. not much of a blockade, it was more like one squad car, one cop.. looked like a trainee. the squad car was blocking the entrance onto an overpass that leads to my house (in the general direction of-). i could see his arms flail in disapointment that i pulled up. i stuck my head out the window and said "can i pass by here?" "hello sir" he said. he made a gesture as if to elude some sense of authority- like he was reaching into his pocket for a gun, or a breathalyzer.. who knows.. oh, well before this gets any more in-depth i'd like you to know i stand strongly against consuming alcohol and getting behind the wheel and can say i did not consume any (no loopholes. im serious.) so as he approaches, i can feel my buzz slowly fading away.. into the seat of my car, maybe it was to keep the aroma company. i gave him a glance, head to toe, and was intrigued by his 'jacket' it wasn't one i've ever seen a cop wearing before. assuming this was an officer in uniform i thought to myself.. hmm, rookie? he couldn't have been any older than me. "i live right on the other side of this bridge" i said to him. "there's been an accident, there's fire and tow trucks, the road is blocked" good to know. so it appears he wasn't reaching for anything.. maybe he was adjusting his belt, or just pulling up his pants. "you can do a u-turn here and find another way" he says to me while walking away. i wasn't afraid that i was going to end up in jail or anything, i barely had enough on me to make him want to do paperwork. i'm just trying to figure out how he didn't smell it, or know what that smell was...
hmmm interesting.
