vid recs, whoring
I hardly ever make vid recs, even though I've been on big downloady rampages and end up seeing a lot of really good ones. But I think thus far only three videos have really opened my eyes. Txlsplash's Incensed and Causality were two of them, which unfortunately still appear to be offline. And nothing else really grabbed me the way they did until I downloaded Milly's Counting Bodies the other day.
It's a dark study of the Angel-Darla-Connor story arc, grainy B&W most of the time with spots of colour, music by A Perfect Circle. You can find it here. It is one of those rare vids that blends a perfect song together with poignant clip choice and good editing. Really great effects, too; quite understated but very effective. If I remember correctly it took away Best Effects at the Buffinator awards some time ago.
(Mark didn't like it particularly, but we all know Mark has no taste, so :P)
While I'm reccing, however, I also have to say Sweetie's Connor&Angel vid, Blurry, and Sassy Kitten's Firefly vid, Feel Good Time, are both la crème de la crème. They are two of the best vidders I've come across who consistently deliver; those two vids in particular cemented my love and admiration for them. While you're there, be sure to check out Sweetie's Wild (Tru Calling!Tru/Jack) and Sassy Kitten's Scar Tissue (Lost!Kate) as well. ;)
