vid recs, music request
Long overdue for a recs post. Let me see if I can remember...
Desert Rose by phoenixchilde, Heroes, Peter-centric.
Didn't catch this one until it was recced on the_reel recently. Is absolutely beautiful. The subtle effects work in particular had me squeeing. Spoilers up to 1x11.
Hemorrhage by wistful_fever, Supernatural, Sam/Dean.
As usual with Fabella's vids the premise is not easily summed up in a few sentences. There are many ideas at work here, but the prevalent one is Sam grabbing onto Dean with growing desperation, and yet in the end it doesn't seem enough, and it's heartbreaking. Fabella is, of course, the Queen of the World, and the editing is eye-bleedy-beautiful as always. Awesome use of external footage. Spoilers to 2x10.
Mainstream by charmax, Battlestar Galactica, Starbuck character.
No one should be this brilliant on such a constant level all the damn time. But that's exactly what Charmax is, and the wench even dares to be so lovely that I can't even hate her for it. Don't you ever get tired of perfection? *shakes fist* And yes, I do realise I haven't said anything about the vid yet. It's because I can't. You'll just have to download it, and then maybe a bunch of us can start a "love to hate Charmax" club. :P
In related news, heresluck recently remastered "Superstar" and "Come On" in divx, so go and squee over the shiny.
Before I forget, could anyone please upload some Matthew Good for me? I've been getting into the odd song here and there in vids and would like to move into albums now, but torrents aren't cooperating. Thank you!
