It's the SEVENTH OF MAY!!! *flails* VOTING DAY! Oh, HOW EXCITING!

I don't know why I'm so absurdly excited, though. I can't vote (too young) and the party I support will never win; just a fact of life. It's just... VOTING! There's something so thrilling about the idea of people getting together and thinking about society for once, thinking about picking someone who could make things better and being able to do something about it without fear of consequence for themselves. It's just a wonderful idea. The Greek Idea of Democracy, the Democracy in India and in the States, it's so wonderfully breathtaking! Every single person makes a difference! And as a people, we have a power in our size! God. I am aware (yes, I am) of how cliche I sound, but meh. It's better I try to put it in words instead of helplessly flailing around. Though, I am flailing quite a bit.

There's wonderful fresh blood in the system, regardless of who wins. Both parties have ridiculously young candidates, and it's heartening for someone like me who wants to get into politics before I die of old age. Some of the young blood is an embarassment to our name, but I'm sure everyone will see it. You know. Dumbshits are dumbshits, no matter how you look at them. And when they open their mouths... (shakes head).
But then, you have wonderful people like this, and this link I cannot find, of the hougang workers' party guy, talking about what voting is about; the people. It's not a fight between him and his opponent. Well, it is, in RL,  but he's trying. That's good enough for me. I shall avoid treason, though. I like my life. I want a government scholarship.

It's different. It's the first time in years the opposition party has even made an appearance in our voting system. We're young as it is. Our opposition party was pretty weak. Not to say it's ridiculously strong now, but it's getting better. Maybe by the time I'm old enough to vote, there'll be something I can vote for. Someone I find worth it. *shrugs*

Either way. I'm worried about Mars. I'm scared sick, and here's an e-hug if you're listening. I'll hug you for real tomorrow, at work. ILY.

A bunch of people I know got their second choice from NUS, meaning they didn't get law. The thing is, these are all friends of friends of friends. It's heresay. I don't know if anyone's actually got law, or notgot law. I don't know. Worried sick. Really am. As far as I knew, the law results were due in the second week of may, along with the medicine results. What does it mean that some people got yes/no responses, and I haven't heard jackshit?

I wonder if my parents will send me overseas. PLEASE. DURHAM. YOU ARE CALLING MY NAME.

Parents; you are never meant to read this, but I hope the sentiment gets to you. I WILL NOT FORGET ABOUT YOU HERE, IN SINGAPORE. I AM NOT LEAVING FOREVER. I AM NOT STUPID. I AIN'T GONNA PAY TAXES IN UK IF I CAN PAY MUCH LOWER TAXES HERE. Just give me a chance to try something new, and get thoroughly sick of the cold. Please. I'll never get a chance like this in my life, again. I'll pay you back, I swear. I'll support you forever, like I was going to, whether I study overseas or not...

Got my mum roses for Mothers' day. FUCKING SHIT EXPENSIVE. HOW THE FUCK CAN ONE STALK COST $2.20?! FUCK. I ended up paying $38 for fifteen roses, including wrapping and shit. *shakes head*.

I have work tomorrow. Hopefully update soon on Voting results.

Love,
LM.

Also, this essay made my life. READ IT. IT'S FOR EVERYONE.
