Hee! I am glad to have reduced you to flailing incoherence, then.

Oh, PAM. I felt so bad for her during "Business School", because I think we all assumed somehow that once she took that step and went to art classes, she'd be good, and never thought to think that since Pam holds back and is so timid, that her personality would become a problem in developing her art. I think maybe it never occurred to her, either, and that since it seemed like such a huge step and taking such a big chance just to get herself out there and taking classes ( ... )

Um, yeah. This is wonderful. Roy not knowing how to make things right, but trying so hard to figure it out (it's like he just doesn't have the tools at his disposal) and his black garbage bag that's really strong! I loved that detail. And Pam not thinking she's good enough. Oh. You're a star.

Exactly, yes! I feel so bad for him these days because it's like, before, he didn't know that he needed those tools and didn't know he didn't have them, and now he's aware that there's a lot going on that he's not equipped to figure out, and he wants to, he just... can't. Poor Roy!

Glad you liked it, babe!

Awww. Oh, my. You really made me -- feel Roy here. Such a voice. Like, I know what it's like when you're hysterical and crying and snotty and gross and that feeling of helplessness that men have and how they just want to help but they don't know what to do. And Roy -- just wanting Pam but so scared that she's going to leave again. *sigh* I've never really been sympathetic for Roy, but suddenly I am. Nice job. Thanks for posting this tonight!!

Yes!!! I'm extra pleased that you mentioned the "snotty and gross", 'cause I find this to be the main part of my experience whenever I cry, and it seems to get edited out of the general media version of crying. Bah.

I've never really been sympathetic for Roy, but suddenly I am.

Wow, I have had impact! Cool! I can ask for nothing more, seriously.

Great story. It made me think of Roy as just a doofus and not some douche bag who's being calculating in his lies just to get Pam back. The guy just has no clue and you were really able to bring that out.

Calculating? ROY? Oh, man. If Roy was calculating, he'd be Andy. ...Actually, now that I think of it, there's a sort of brilliant doofus character dissection done by this show by giving us four distinct kinds of doofus: Roy, Michael, Dwight, and Andy. (Wait, five: Kevin, who is definitely a whole different dude. Six, if one counts Creed and his miniscule attention span.) Andy was the odd one out because he had zero loyalty; the others all have good hearts and are deeply loyal. I mean, holy hell, any other show would just have a guy be dumb and leave it at that, but we get all the distinct varieties of dumb guys. I LOVE IT.
