so last night when i got home i started getting a migraine. stupid me, i didn't take anything for it until almost 9pm. and by then it was incredibly too late and full blown. i laid down until jeff got home around 10:30ish. i woke up and the migraine was still full blown, if not worse. he gave me some of my hydrocodone...and that didn't help either ( Read more... )

*hugs*

I'm so sorry hon. You're one of the few people I know that gets them like I do. And the ER sucks, but hey, I've met my insurance deductible already this year :-)

Grats on the weight loss though. I'm down about 6lbs currently. I had to take about a week and a half break from the gym since I've been sick. Bleh.

Feel better, sexy.

When I have the ones that feel like I was shot in the face or bludgeoned with a baseball bat I get mildly hallucinatory from all the damn endorphins rushing around to try and kill the pain. It's pain beyond crying and I just lay there in a strange trance-like state of pain(in a cold dark room of course).I can't move because I'll get sick if I do, but sometimes getting sick means the headache is almost over for me. Those headaches usually give me hangovers in the postdrome phase where I am spacey(like can't think straight at all), worn out, and my head feels like it' s hollow where the headache was.

that's exactlyyyy how i'm feeling today. i'm slow, off balance, can't think straight, can barely form a complete sentance/thought. yeah.. that's me today. and yes... my head does feel kinda spacey, dull ache.. like a weird sort of hangover.

i kept wanting to puke last night when i'd get up to go pee... but i couldn't actually puke. i thought, well maybe if i do i'll actually start to feel better. no such luck.

our brains suck ass

so the tingling sensation i get is a non-visual aura. huh... i always wondered what that was called.

i alwaysss get ultra sensitive to light, sound, smells, touch... but i've very rarely gotten actual "auras". just with jeff having the computer monitor on playing wow (which is a darker screen than when he's beebopping around on the internet) plays hell with me. i wonder if i am sensitive to the electrical output??? i've gotten migraines before from being in a computer store.. many times actually. ever had that happen to you?

Yeah, the now classify "aura" as whatever clue you get that a migraine is coming on. I've never had visual auras, but I do get what I call a ghost pain that's a quick flash of light pain that will zap through my head. Some times it's lingers though. If I can catch it then, I might have a chance ( ... )

I have a wonderful friend who was having chronic migraines about as bad as you're talking about.

She started seeing suibhne for regular massages and now from what I understand she has a noticeable decrease in severity and frequency.

You might look into seeing a licensed NMT massage therapist.

I can't remember if you said you'd tried acupuncture yet? I'd say now is the time. It's clear you can't continue this way. How can you be preggers AND deal with all this? It can't be good for a podling. It's certainly not good for YOU.

As I've advised you before, perhaps Network and acupuncture could be the ticket for you.

I encourage you to call Center for Holistic Health and try Gene Clerkin for Network and Jiang Li for acupuncture. It is not horribly expensive and it might be covered by your insurance.

i will definitely try it!

not preggers yet. but i've heard from lots of people (doctors included) that many pregnant women find that they no longer get migraines while they are pregnant, and some even don't have them anymore after the baby comes. of course.. if i continue to have them i don't know how i'll deal with the baby when being in pain.

le sigh..

must definitely try more massage therapy and acupuncture.

love you!
