On The Road Again

So i am about to head out to portland for the weekend, i am going to a leadership confrence, i kinda got thrown into it, but all i know is that OSPIRG (oregon student public intrest reascherch group) is paying for my gas, my hotel room, some meals, and the $80 confrence fee, so that is a good thing, basicly i am getting a free trip to portland and all i have to do is drive for 5 hours, well not even 5 hours, dan offered to drive (for anyone who dosent know who dan is, he is the campus coordenator for the SOU chapter of OSPIRG, kinda my boss, but no one really takes him seariously, partially because i dont think he really takes himself seariously) so yeah, it should be a fun weekend, go to a bunch of seminars about activism and grassroots organisation and whatnot, i am deffinatly looking foward to it. Last night was the sleepout, crazy fucking night, all the OSPIRG kids and random students we tlaked into doing it, as well as some homeless people slept out on the lawn at school to make a statement that students are aware and concerned about the growing homelessness problem in oregon, the country and the world... it was fun, but its fucking cold out side, i simpathise with the homeless a lot more, it was deffinatly a good experience, fucking cold seairously... about a quarter of the way into the night, the bad habit bandits showed up completely wasted out of their minds and played music/created chaos for us, god how i live folk punk... then seamus hung out with us, jsut playing guitar for pretty much the rest of the night, luke and the others went to get more fucked up. I have definatly enjoyed getting involved with OSPIRG, met some really cool people that i pobibly woulnt have met otherwise, and in a way, actually feel like i am accomplishing something, what with hwo many people we registered to vote, how many ballots we collected and now hwo well hunger and homlessness week went... life deffinatly isint bad up here in oregon, though i do miss a lot of people, and some aspects of encinitas, i have no idea when i am going to return there...
