Graduation, South Africa, and Namibia, oh my!
Hello livejournal! I still exist, I'm nearly finished with my master of social work degree, and I just went to Africa. Life is good! I finished almost all of my degree requirements and graduated on July 1, and then hopped a plane to South Africa and Namibia for my final elective requirement. All I have left is to write a few reflection papers, and then I am officially done. It was an amazing trip, and I hope to post some reflections, stories, and pictures here about the experience.
I'll start with the plane ride to Johannesburg, where we were flash mobbed by the Imilonji KaNtu Choral Society, a Soweto-based choir who was returning home after performing in the United States. Here is a video of them singing the South African national anthem. What a warm and joyful welcome to South Africa!
