Said the Senator...
I am no longer fatigued! I suppose a second wind came upon me and, as such, all is well.
You ever notice just how gruesome Irish Ballads are? They're bittersweet musical and have a fun and unique tempo exclusive to the Celtic Round style of music. That said, it does little to disguise cheerful lyrics in songs like Arthur McBride which is mostly about how the military sucks and how it's awesome to kill people with cudgels and walking sticks. I have to admit a fondness for this sort of music for both the melody and turbulent lyrics. No true offense meant to the Celtic enthusiasts out there but, having known my share of legitimate whistful Irish warrior-poet types, put away all your damned Ren Faire fantasies are realize that the Irish are punk as hell.
Now if you DO want whimsical, medieval fancy and a bit of hilarity I invite you to behold the lead singer/flutist of Jethro Tull:
Clearly Epic.
In addition, I marvel today over old-timey blues album covers. Very few album covers capture simple destitution and spirit of their genre like these do:
We have Robert Johnson, the blues guitarist who was said to have sold his soul to the Devil at a Georgia crossroads. (Probably more realistically a demon brought over by European colonists ages before... What?)
And then these:
And, finally, that blind motherfucker who makes gorgeously haunting music by singing off key and clapping out of synch....
