Think of all the things you did before. Write them in a letter that says "reborn"

Well, I am back from my Eurotrip and as predicted, miserably sick. Trying to find a doctor is on tap for tomorrow so that I can be cured and start this damn history paper of mine. I hate being an overachiever; why the hell did I sign up for a 3rd year history class? I am supposed to be taking it easy here in study-abroad land.
Anyways, I will give you guys the Reader's Digest version of the past 3 weeks; want more details? just ask and I will be happy to share.

Montpellier: Southern France, First time I had seen the sun in a long long time and I loved it. We went there because Chrissy has friends from UNC studying there. We hung out in this park the first night there, and I felt like I was on a movie scene. It felt so surreal that I was actually in France.

Barcelona: One of my favorite cities; warm and friendly and the beach! Park Guel was amazing, but those people pretending to be statues really creep me out. Had our first anti-American experience when someone shouted "Fuck Bush" at us when walking down Calle La Rambla. Little does he know, tons of Americans feel the same way.

Madrid: met up with Andy and Che and got to see Andy's corner of study-abroad land. Our hostel was a re-furbished palace and was beautiful. Andy showed us his park, and it has become one of my favorite places. Had a little mix-up with the tickets to Paris because the woman sold us tickets for a train that had already left and we didn't notice till the next day, but Andy and his Spanish sorted it out and the ticket man "shit his hand"

Paris: went to the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triumph, all that good stuff...still incredibly surreal. We stayed in a room next to some Scottish kids and listened to one of the funniest renditions of "gold-digger" I have ever heard. oh yeah and the Mona Lisa was seen too

Venice: By far my favorite city, not smelly or expensive, like people say. Had very good pizza and started my gelato addiction. Michelle got "oooh la la"ed by some Italian guy. Hannah, Che, and I had the Italian hotel receptionist push our buttons and jump around our room (he helped us with the TV) and we had strawberry wine and Italian twinkies (the epitome of class)

Rome: absolutely crazy; the world's worst metro system, but I got to see the Sistine Chapel, Trevi Fountain, the Panteon, the Colluseum, and the Senate ruins so I am one happy camper

Florence: stayed in the oddest little hostel; saw the Duomo and the David who is HUGE by the way. Got my little kid's T-shirt so I can be a wordly emo kid. here is where I started feeling sick.

Annecy: After almost being stranded in Geneve and shelling out 100 Euro for a cab, we made it to our hostel only so I could puke up bloody mucous the entire night. The next day I went to a doctor's office in between a pizzeria and a gay disco called "Le Stud", makes for a good story for the grandkids. It was awesome looking out my window and seeing the French Alps even though I couldn't go out and explore the city. We decided not to go to Munich and stay in Annecy another day cause the doctor told me to be quiet for 2 days...we think/hope he meant sleep and couldn't think of the word

Geneve: our impromptu answer to Munich; I was feeling better by then and we saw this giant fountain and the UN headquarters and ate a kilogram of swiss chocolate.

Prague: as beautiful as people make it out to be; has the weirdest clock ever...check it out at noon if you are ever there. Couldn't understand 1/2 of what was going on and struggled to pronounce, please and thank you so I just smiled a lot. My wisdom teeth decided now would be the perfect time to emerge and I began to feel like crap again.

Which brings me back to Colchester when my first purchase was a teething ring. I have paper to write and that will get started tomorrow after I get drugs from the doctor's hopefully. If I have to have my teeth pulled here, I will cry.

so ends another cheerful update, I will try to be happier next time.
