Today I am thankful for the place I live. I am glad that I found a city that I love to be in year round. I love the seasons. I like watching the days grow significantly longer, then significantly shorter. I love the cherry blossoms in the spring, the vivid greens in the summer, the bright colors in the fall, and the water/ice/snow on the bare branches in the winter. I love the cold kiss of drizzle, which makes the warmth of the sun even more precious. I love how the grey sky is not a boring grey, but a mountainous grey, reflecting the rocky peaks around the city. Oh, sure, I like visiting other places and other climes, but this city will always be home, and, yes, I do get terribly homesick for it when I am away.
