Willful Ignorance

Nov 17, 2008 18:01

I have an confession to make: I pretend I haven't read articles like "The Goodbye Republic" by Rand Clifford at countercurrents.org because if I had, I'd have to get serious about things that make me uncomfortable.

I'm well past the age of getting excited about taking on the American crypto-fascist plutocracy. Just like most Americans, I'd rather watch football on my big screen than deal with even the idea that there really are people, Americans even, who are convinced they deserve to rule over men and nations. They don't even desire this for any even remotely noble reason but simply because it makes them more money.

Sure the lions and the foxes have traded places, but did anything really change?

It's days like this I can relate with my brother's sentiment, "C'mon Asteroid!"
