ONE First and most importantly... it's 30 days until my 21st birthday! :D It hasn't even sunk in yet that I'm twenty, and the year just went by in a flash. I feel like I'm gonna blink, and before I know it I'll be middle-aged. O_O I feel like my life is moving too quickly for me to actually live it ( Read more... )

I'm not participating in any other fandom, not watching any TV, not even trading. IT HAS TAKEN OVER MY BRAIN AND I DON'T WANT IT TO GO AWAY.

Hee. Me too. I thought my life would get back to normal now it's over, but it's almost worse. Before there was just the two shows a week and a load of spec in between. Now it's interviews and press all the time. And I love it!

That Leno interview is all kinds of awesome. LKL had some cute moments (and lots of Kradam adorableness) but it was doing a little too much of the pimping Adam, Kris shouldn't won thing which f**ked me off. They can't stop bussing Kris even now he's won. *sigh*

P.S. Sherlock Holmes looks pretty epic. I'm not a fan of Jude Law at all, but RDJ, Mark Strong and my girl Rachel McAdams definitely make up for it. <3

It's definitely worse for me - I used to just wait for Wednesdays and Thursdays (living half a world away is a bitch sometimes) to come by and squee on my own, but the obsession just grew and grew from Top 7 on. I expanded to TWoP (btw, do you post there?), IDF, and now that it's done ontd_ai is consuming my life. :)) When I wake up in the morning, there are at least 7 or 8 posts I need to catch up on, and I'm just so thankful I'm on my summer vacation right now, nothing can keep me away from these boys. :))

The LKL bussing was gross, such a disservice to both Kris and Adam. I'm so disappointed in Seacrest for adding to that. :| But the two of them just rise above all the crap, and I just love them more. I will love Paula forever for her "bromance" comment OMG. <3

RDJ AND RACHEL MCADAMS, CMON, HOW MUCH MORE AWESOME CAN YOU GET? :D

I thought I'd finally get sleep now, no longer staying up til 5am on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (the time difference IS a bitch) but instead I'm just up late every night reading crap online about the boys. And there's so much more to read now we're not speculating about what they'll sing.

I expanded to TWoP (btw, do you post there?), IDF, and now that it's done [info]ontd_ai is consuming my life.I've been reading TWoP for years but never posted before until AI this season - TWoP forums still scare me, but the AI ones are actually quite sane. As opposed to the SV ones if you're a Lois fan for example... I haven't missed a post in the Kris and Grassy Knoll threads in about five weeks, but only posted once or twice while the show was on. I've been commenting a bit more lately though. I'm 77amy77 (my old LJ name) - who are you on there? I keep seeing comments from people and thinking 'that sounds like X or Y from LJ but don't like to ask...' Hee ( ... )

TWoP was one of my first regular internet stops when I started surfing 9 years ago, LOL. That was where I found out about LJ. I've been lurking forever, but I never got around to making an account. I love reading so many well-thought of posts and stuff like that, but was always too scared to pipe up with my own opinions. :P I've never been to the SV boards (everyone of the Clark/Lois contingent speaks of that place like it's hell), but the AI boards are awesome. The Knoll has made me incredibly paranoid, and Kris's thread makes my heart sigh with happiness. ♥

ontd_ai is my favorite comm of all time. I was hesitant to join it too because the original ONTD is a scary scary place, but this one brings me so much joy and LOLZ at all hours of the day. I feel like I'm on the same wavelength with everyone there - the comparative amount of Adam vs. Kris love is the only difference - and there are no trolls. Awesome ( ... )

I made an account at TWOP just because it's the easiest way to keep track of where you read up to in a thread the last time. And unfortunately I'm not always good at keeping my opinions to myself so once I had the account it was only a matter of time before I commented. I've only been to the SV forums once or twice, but I couldn't stay long because of the Lois hatred. If the group doesn't like someone you're a fan of, it's not a nice place to be. I'm still surprised how great the AI ones are. I avoided the finale thread after a couple of pages because there were a few too many less than nice comments about Kris winning. But the Knoll thread has been really good to Kris since he won. I love that thread - I was never in the AI fandom before this season and had no idea how scripted it all was. And I love that the year I get involved is the year my favorite contestant ever breaks the Knoll. *g* All the theories definitely don't help me get over my fears about Kris's career though.

The Knoll is a beautiful and terrifying place, haha. I only watched the entirety of S3 and S7, and it's just so fascinating how much of a "machine" AI really is. Sure, you'd have the regular reality-show-is-rigged theories if you're a casual viewer, but man the Knoll has been running so long they have entrenched terms for everything. It made my rooting for Kris a lot more stressful, but then he ended up breaking it! Bwah, it's all kinds of awesome isn't it ( ... )

I'd only watched S5 and 6 before this one, but only as a casual viewer. So reading about all the machines at work behind the scenes back then is fascinating. I'm not usually the conspiracy theory kind of person in general, but I think once you accept AI is not just a 'singing competition' it doesn't hurt to read all crap TPTB throw at the contestants and viewers because it gives you more control. Much better than that allowing them to manipulate you the way they want ( ... )

I absolutely do not buy Kris being Stealth!TCO. I know every nuance of Kris's story as it played out on the show, and with all the things he went through - no screen time, moderate praise, epic bussing, the "thanks for playing" edit - I can't accept that it's all been planned all along. Frankly because TPTB just aren't that smart. :P LOL it's obviously been Adam/Danny forever, and Kris broke the show. That's my POV for now - I haven't been reading the Knoll for about a week, so my thinking may be rusty.

IDK, I outright reject the idea that TPTB ever planned on Kris. I think they expected him to fold like Castro did Top 4 night last year - he'd been taking a beating for a couple of weeks, and just gave up. Kris was stubborn; if he was leaving, he'd be going kicking and screaming and protesting all the way. That makes me a little bit hopeful for his future prospects - boy knows what he wants, and even if he does get screwed over the first few times, he's got mettle, he won't just give up.

It's funny because for me it is still a ( ... )

I don't believe he was the chosen one either. It's not that they were horrible to him, because I actually don't think they were before Rock Week (it's more in comparison to the tongue baths Adam and Danny (and occasionally Matt) got the judges comments seemed very harsh). My problem is that they barely knew he was there half the time. With a TCO you either pimp them (Adam and Danny) or do some de-pimping to rile up the voters. Kris went under-the-radar for so long I don't think they realised he was a threat. Then at the end they wanted him out at T4 to keep a girl in the T3, planning to bus Allison next leaving an Adam/Danny final. I just think Kris had way too many voters at that stage, and the bussing of him that week was so spectacularly blatant that his fans were pissed ( ... )
