I'M SO HAPPY, YOU GUYS. (And apparently, I can't stop making lists.)
ONE There's finally a release date for The Time Traveler's Wife. \:D/ IMDb says
August 14 for the States, and I have to believe that they'll be screening this locally too. I will hurt someone if it isn't.
(Pics from
here.)
This is only my absolute favorite book of all time - I know I should be nervous about how they're bringing it to the silver screen. But I really can't make myself worry because I'm so thankful that the movie was made at all, and with an absurdly pretty cast. And even if I hate the movie, it wouldn't remove anything from my love and adoration for the book, so whatevs. :) Now. I want trailers!
TWO Speaking of movies - so many awesome ones are coming out this month. I'm seeing Wolverine with Mael this week, and then there's Angels & Demons, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, Up (ZOMG PIXAR!), maybe even Star Trek. Good times.
THREE My
last post was full of embedded videos (and the epic comment party
butterflyvision,
safillevendredi,
bigboobedcanuck,
msmoocow and I had), this one will have pictures:
Thank God for summer vacation. I've restarted my The West Wing marathon, and of course I'm loving every single second of it. ♥ YOU GUYS. This show is perfect. It's smart and heartbreaking and hilarious and idealistic and fascinating, and the dialogue is witty and snappy, and it's just like music. The cast is too kickass for words. It's PERFECT. Also super pretty. I never want it to end.
Ugh, this show. I don't know how I've gone for this long without it in my life, and I'm just savoring every season I finish. Watch out for S2 and S3 picspams coming up in the next couple of weeks. :)
FOUR Again, THIS GUY:
Eight tracks (out of 11, I think) from his pre-Idol album have been leaked (check
here and
here to download!), and they're incredible. I can't stop listening to them. It's been said all over, and I want to say it on my journal: Kris Allen is the most marketable artist they have on the show right now, and his music is the only one (out of the Top 13, 36, whatever) of them I would ever want to listen to on a regular basis. His style is so soothing, very easy to listen to, and with beautiful lyrics. Exactly my kind of musician.
Also? HE IS SO PRECIOUS. Take a look at
this letter he took the time to send to a fan. I already adore him because of his sheer
adorableness, and he had to add awesome snark in there, too? I'm in love.
FOUR A This doesn't make me happy at all, but I had to get in some ~deep~ AI thoughts in here:
It's a general fandom consensus (well, on TWoP anyway) that Kris getting into the Top 3 would be the equivalent of winning the show. Honestly, I have to agree. I would absolutely love for him to get his hometown visit, to have him for two more weeks, sing a couple more songs that I will undoubtedly love. But I'm pretty much resigned to his inevitable elimination this Wednesday. :( I just can't think of a scenario where Danny will get the shock boot (though I'm praying really hard for it), or that Allison will be eliminated after Rock Week. At least there'll be duets to look forward to? Kris/Adam or Kris/Allison, please.
But still, I'm using the power of technology to vote for him for two hours on Wednesday morning, to give my support even if it's for the last time. And I think I'll be streaming the Top 4 elimination show on Thursday morning live through
Rickey, just to torture myself get the full effect. I will cry so much, and will spend the rest of the day truly depressed. And you know what? If Kris gets booted off, I want the other contestants to bawl. I want Adam's guyliner and mascara to run down his cheeks, I want Allison to completely lose it, and I want Danny to show some real emotion for once. That would be the only thing that would make Kris's elimination worth seeing. Hmph. :|
Oh, Pocket Idol. You've gone farther than anybody in the world thought you could, and I'm so proud to be a fan. Rest assured, I'll be here from now on - for years - watching you and supporting you in everything you do. Kick ass this week, okay? ♥
FIVE Picture this: a Rob Epstein film about Allan Ginsberg, starring James Franco, Mary-Louise Parker, Paul Rudd, Alan Alda, David Strathairn, Treat Williams, Jeff Daniels... and Aaron. Freaking. Tveit.
WTF, UNIVERSE. How in the world does this happen, how can this cast actually be all together in one movie? This is so many fandom crossovers, it's not even funny. Nancy from Weeds meets Josh from Clueless! Don Draper from Mad Men meets Dr. Brown from Everwood! JAMES DEAN AND FIYERO TIGGULAR ARE LOVERS. What. Not to mention
butterflyvision and my favorite topic: Aaron's supposed to be, you know, starring on a Broadway show 8 times a week and preparing for an out-of-town tryout of another musical, and somehow HE FILMS A MOVIE TOO? What the hell. I call shenanigans!
Or... no, not really. I just want 2010 to get here now so I can have Franco+Tveit and everyone else on the big screen. Just... hot damn what a movie this will be.

We go to see our favorite local bar band, the Hold Steady, every time they play. They always end with our favorite song, "Killer Parties," and sometimes I think, man, all the people I get to hear this song with, we're going to miss each other when we die. When we die, we will turn into songs, and we will hear each other and remember each other.
