I met an Ood! (Holiday Picspam)

Jun 21, 2008 18:20

Sorry to disappoint everyone, but the ghost music was, alas, an ice cream van all along! That isn't to say it wasn't a ghostly ice cream van, as I've yet to actually clap eyes on the thing. Thanks for all the support though :D.

Anyway, here's the holiday picspam I promised. I swear it's not all boring landscapes, there are lots of photos from the Doctor Who exhibition that we visited, and lots of funny faces from me. We went to Porthtowan in Cornwall, which is pretty much at the bottom tip of SW England.

Roy Orbison lent me his sun glasses so that Morgan and I could visit Trevarno Gardens. Which was pretty and nice. Morgan had a fun day and was very well behaved around the peacocks, unlike the other dogs there. The idea of Morgan behaving herself was an alien concept to me.

Giant Watering Can and I. No explanation is satisfactory or forthcoming.

This is St. Mawes Castle, which we had to board a ferry to visit, which was all very exciting. As was the audio tour at the castle, which was conducted by a contemporary of the castle, Captain Vyvian and consisted of him shouting "SPANIARDS!" rather a lot.

The castle was pretty cool, it was built by Henry VIII in 1540-45 and had a lovely view of the sea

SPANIARDS!

Yay! How cool is this? It's the building that houses the Doctor Who Exhibition at Land's End.

Boe himself and a Sister of Plentitude I just read that off the cards. I am so dressing up as a Sister at some point in my life.

LOL! This was me "looking scared."  I can has Equity Card?

A SLITHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN!

Sharing fashion tips. My nose is sunburnt.

An Ood!

A close-up Ood! OMG he looks real. I was so scared there would be someone in costume ready to jump out at us (this is a deep-rooted fear of mine). No one did. Sadly not even David Tennant.

Aww!

Being deleted is fun, kids! Do try this at home.

Aww, I really liked this guy ;__;.

This was painted on the exit! Awesome.

On the way home from Land's End we visited this ancient village called Carn Euny. There was an underground chamber (a fogou!) that we clambered down into, no pictures of that as school kids were spitting at us through a grate. I'm so proud of my country! Anyway, yes, bits of this, including the underground chamber dated back to 500BC!

Arty.

I wish I had a video of this, but Morgan is the best rock climber in the world. She's so awesome, I was terrified, she was leaping huge chasms! She looks cheeky here.

...and very wise.

We went to Porfell Wildlife Park, which was probably the best day of the holiday. I fed this goat so much food, he was amazing.

This picture makes me laugh so much. My face is hilarious! I think the goat just whispered something suggestive about Aberforth Dumbledore. We fed so many animals by hand, it was brilliant. Donkeys, sheep, llamas, ponies, goats, peacocks, deer! Best day ever.

This little guy was so cute!

Look at him!

And these guys made me laugh so much! They're huge! That's a goose's bum, just for scale.

Oh hai! I am a tourist! This was Launceston Castle. It was a hell of a walk to get up there! Good, it might help me get rid of those HIPS!

The castle was built in the 13th Century. It was basically just the tower that you can see...

...but the view from the top was AMAZING!

I also found three fossils, but I forgot to take photos of them! I'll have to show you them another day.

Hooray, there's a new indie night starting in my town tonight. I'm very excited. We've had nowhere to go out since we stopped DJing, every club just plays rock or dance. I'm a little bit sad to see all the comments on the website about how there's never been a decent indie night in our area :(. I know that the people who said that probably just didn't know about us, it was a very cliquey club and was never very well advertised, but still, we played all kinds of cool stuff. Even Harry & The Potters! Ahh well! So yes, I'm off to get ready, I haven't been out since New Year's Eve! Woo!
