Oh my gosh, you guys, I just had the luckiest escape ever. I was eating dinner with my family, and the phone rang, and there was this mad scramble between me and my brother to get to it, and when I picked up I inexplicitly lost it. Like, completely. I just started laughing while I choked out "Hi, this is Laura" and then I couldn't stop. Like a total crazy person. And my family are staring at me in frozen horror, and the person on the other end is silent, and I can't hang up because I've already given my name and they know, and I am TWENTY-TWO years old and I still can't stop.
I think it was the blessing of the year that the person on the other end finally managed "Laura, you are so lucky it's me." The other person being someone I've been friends with since we were both in nappies. It's still embarrassing, but I don't need to ban myself from my hometown or anything. All the same, there goes my (nonexistent) reputation for being a dignified and poised young lady!
