Catch up time.

Well, I have to work this weekend, but at least I don't start till 1pm, giving me the morning free. So, I really need to finish my 'catch up' on the last few weeks.

Amy whiteous came to visit me from Christchurch, NZ. Had it been a few weeks later she wouldn't have made the trip due to the earthquake. I didn't have time off but with my days off, and with her spending time with other friends here in Brisbane, her time was taken care of.

We managed some outings; her belated Birthday present was going to see "WICKED" which was great. (That was the 4th time for Andrew and I). I love this show!

Noosa National Park is always a favourite, so we headed off there for the day. Can you believe that for most of the drive there it was torrential rain. We stopped by the Glasshouse Mountains and saw...well...nothing! The cloud was down and it was very miserable indeed. Oh! I tell a lie. We did see this lonesome kangaroo sitting in the long grass enjoying breakfast.

Anyway after a dreadful coffee and more torrential rain we came close to Noosa and the clouds cleared instantly and it turned out to be hot and sunny. We were able to sit under the gum trees and enjoy our picnic and just enjoy the sound of the waves crashing on the rocks and the various birds singing above us. This part of the coast is just so lovely and I never tire of it.

It was such a nice day that we decided to go around to Sunshine Beach...beautiful sands and warm water. We had only been in the sea for 10 mins and the sky darkened suddenly..and moved VERY quickly towards us. Time to retreat from the storm! It was fun whilst it lasted. But just down the road at the next beach they hadn't had a drop of rain.
