I've commented before that the weather at this time of year is great. I woke early this morning and hoped that for once the weather man was correct in his predictions. Fortunately he was spot on and there wasn't a cloud in the sky. I had nothing planned and the day was mine. I've been hankering after a trip along the coast, so I packed my backpack and camera and set off north for the 90 min drive to Noosa National Park. This national park is one of the most visited in Queensland, but being a weekday I was hoping that it wouldn't be overrun. The first part of the walk I didn't meet a soul other than a lot of birds, several lizards and a large lace monitor. It was 28c, and with that temperature, the eucalyptus trees seem to release their oil, filling the air with a distinct Australian bush smell. I love the fresh, almost clinical smell of gum trees. Later in the day there were a few more people but they certainly didn't distract from the serenity of the area. Come and take a walk with me.
