Happy Birthday Mum
Today is my mum's 80th birthday. I can't be there as she lives in New Zealand, but I posted card and gifts and had a long phone call this morning. She cried, as I knew she would. She wanted my brother and I to be there. My brother lives in the UK, and there is no way he would be making the trip...there is the cost and the fact that he had an accident in the winter, being a victim of the ice. He wouldn't be able to manage the journey very well. I had discussed with my dad to sort out flowers to be delivered. He didn't do it! Apparently he thought it would be nicer to let her know what I was doing and told her. HE thought it would be nicer for her to have a plant because it would last longer and would be cheaper. The money wasn't the issue. I know that mum would have loved to have received flowers. I'm cross with him. Mum said that a plant would be nice but I can tell she would have been thrilled to get flowers.
