A week ago my daughter (who is almost 21) flew over from New Zealand. It's about a year since I have seen her and it was good to have her visiting again. With her birthday fast approaching I decided that as a treat we would fly to Sydney, as she has never been there. Andrew had been in Hong Kong for a few days for work, and he flew in that same morning. It was good to see him again, even though it had only been a few days. Unfortunately he didn't get to sleep on the flight so was exhausted. We left him to recuperate and instead we headed to Circular Quay so that we could enjoy the sights of the beautiful harbour. The weather was stunning and it was in the low 30's.

Sydney Harbour Bridge
One of my favourite buildings of all time, anywhere in the world, is the iconic Sydney Opera House. This sleek structure sits like a ship, just arrived to the colonies, at the entrance of the harbour, almost in the shadow of the bridge. The Danish architect, Jorn Utzon, never saw the completed building.
