A Night at the Opera
The night is dark and stormy. The jester, his daughter, her seducer and the assassin have each played their part and now their tragic tale of sex, violence, betrayal and revenge is about to reach it's gut-wrenching conclusion.
I'm talking about the Opera Queensland's 'Rigoletto', by Guiseppe Verdi, which I went to see last night. This superb Fellini-esque production was brilliantly sung and played out with a first rate Queensland Orchestra. It has been some years since I have managed to get to the opera and it was delightful to be transported to another time and place. I love live theatre and music.
