(no subject)
I am still alive and after that adventurous day have been playing it cool. ive been without the car this week as the girl who owns it came back from holiday and knows nothing of what went down haha
Ive had a pretty arty weekend, we went to an art exhibition on friday night where the theme was 'sugar' there were some pretty impressive pieces there including a life size cake of a womans body which everyone was eating. we just cut pieces out of her body and munched away. if there was anything i wish i could do it would be to paint and make art. there are so many types of art im sure there is something i could do but i should probably take a class to find my inner artist as i really dont know where to begin.
On saturday, Alison and I went to the Wine and Art festival where you pay $20 to get in and can try more than 50 different types of wine and see many artists stalls. most of the artists from the night before were there plus many more. they were all local bahamian artists so it was great to see what they had to offer. I bought a tshirt from a girl at the exhibition on friday night so was wearing it to help advertise her designs. i was so excited about it and she even signed the shirt for me :)
i felt so great wearing something from a local artist that i now consider a friend. its always great to promote and support talented artists so ill take it all over the world with me and wear it with pride. and of course encourage others to buy her designs :oD
Sunday we went to the Rugby 7s. it was the north america and west indies qualifying competition for the Rugby 7s world cup in dubai next year. USA and canada made it through but the bahamas won the plate round so we were all pretty excited about that. it was a cool afternoon (i didnt go to the whole weekend) but slightly different atmosphere to wellington 7s id imagine. for starters there was only about 200 people not 20,000 or however many people go to that. ive been to the twickenham event before but ive never been to welly which i hear is quite an experience.
Ive only got 3 more days here pretty much now. we are going to Atlantis tomorrow, a powerboat day trip on wed, packing and sorting my stuff out on thurs then im off back to florida on friday morning. im heading to orlando as soon as i get there for halloween and then back to try and find a job on monday...
