2014 in Review

Okay, here's the year in review for the scant few who are still around here.
Goal 1 didn't happen this time around. I wanted to drop about 30 lbs to get to a milestone. Instead I got down by about 5, running in circles all year with my weight in a range of about five up and five down. Still, I managed to meet my second weight reduction goal right at the end of the year.
Goal 2 happened -- two of my stories were in the Fall/Winter issue of Magnets and Ladders (www.magnetsandladders.com) so I got some thing published last year.
I also got the chance to score a short film for a student project, which consisted of eleven cues . This involved a lot of learning how to compare timings to the number of beats at a specific tempo, and it was highhly educational.
All quiet on the eastern front in the relationship department, which is fine with me. Of course, I don't go much of anywhere except for the grocery stores, so chances for that are slim anyway. I'm not missing having someone else in my life, and we're about three months from the fourth year anniversary of when my last relationship withered up and died. I've thought about joining a couple of the matching sites, not for romantic partners but instead to find friends and spiritual partners, but what's stopping me is that I'd have to deal with all kinds of folks wanting to hook up, so the signal to noise ratio isn't favorable there.
High drama with the family, but family is drama misspelled, isn't it? I'm retiring the guide beast, and the guide dog school decided I'm not a good candidate for another dog, so that'll limit my mobility options somewhat.
I've been doing a lot of writing. Some of it's been music, but most has been fiction. I've also written some gaming articles, but last May I stepped down from the magazine, so there's been less of that going on. I'm working on a couple of longer stories, and the ideas have been good so far.
My brother got divorced and my dad separated from his wife, though they don't plan to divorce for some reason. Getting to the grocery store has been tougher this year, but things always seem to come through.
I've got a friend who is working hard on becoming an ex-friend, because she calls me sometimes as many as eight times a day to go on and on about her life. I don't like being someone's unpaid therapist, and I suspect that this year she's going to move out of my friendship zone.
I did a few spiritual things with others this last year, including running several rituals. My personal spiritual stuff has reached another level, which is nice, but we always have so much more to do when it comes to that.
Goal 1 for this year is to reach the goal in weight reduction that I set for last year. Goal 2 is one that deals with transitioning, and I want to start with the medical stuff in 2015. Goal 3 involves getting more of my stuff published.
That's about it, things tend to be quiet around here. Hope y'all had a good 2014 and didn't get caught up in too much of the chaos.
