Title: The Quality of Mercy

Summary: Uther starts to notice a few things about Arthur and his manservant. Which remind him a bit too much of a Queen and Sorceress from his own past for his comfort.

And may I say thankyou? I've not come across many fics which explore Uther's humanity. I rather imagine Uther's character to be similar to Anthony Stewart Head's role as Nathan in Repo... that he loved deeply and it destroyed him when she died, his grief sending him to do terrible things. People have more sympathy for Nathan though because his backstory is more clearly explained.

So yeah, thanks for this story... and I'll be waiting for part 2 ^_^

You have to wait 'til tomorrow because a.) the story is a grand total of 21,000 words long and I can't format that much all at once, and b.) I have a 10-page report on the laws of supply and demand due day after tomorrow and I haven't even started, yet, and I still have to figure out how to take a concept that can be understood in a paragraph and stretch to at least 7 pages.

Anyway, you're welcome. ^_^ I've never watched Repo, but I'm not surprised to hear this about him. In general, people don't pity a villain, but they do when they hear the backstory. As I have a tendency of assuming people are made up of their back story, I rather like villains almost more than the heroes, sometime. In fact, foxie_trot and I were talking about this, and came up with a theory that heroes are easy to understand, but with villains, you have to work towards understanding them - so whenever you bother going in depth with them, people tend to like them more for it. ^_^
