Hyukjae found it hard to keep his silence. Just as it was to suppress the hurt when the other walked passed him without sparing even a glance his way. Not that it was his fault.

Junsu lowered himself on the sandy beach, studying the bits of sand in his hands. Hyukjae remained a good distance away. He had acted almost like this man's shadow for weeks now, nervously biding his time.

Junsu gestured for him to come over and showed him the shells in his hands, shining brilliantly after he washed them.

“You already have too many at home.” Hyukjae mouthed. Junsu pursed his lips, shaking his head in disagreement as he turned around, looking around amongst the sand as Hyukjae parted his lips.

"I like you." He said, cursing himself for not having the courage to say it to his face.

And as Junsu turned around, Hyukjae could only sigh as he smiled obliviously in his direction.

He gave an awkward chuckle, earning a confused glance. "N-nothing."

Junsu gestured his hands.

"I'm not lying." Junsu did so again. "Alright. Fine. You win."

He sat beside as Junsu held the sparkling sand in his hands, letting it fall from his loosened grip. His childlike expression softened Hyukjae's gaze.

"I like you... Too much really." He said under his breath.

He started coughing when suddenly bits of sand went into his mouth.

A strangled and uncontrolled laugh escaped Junsu's lips at the scene. It may have seemed odd to others who looked on warily, but Hyukjae thought of each laugh and smile an achievement on his part.

With every bit of courage he could mustered, he yelled his confession to the skies. Sadly even then, Junsu still couldn't hear his frustrated voice.

Hyukjae hurried after the other as they walked from the small beach towards their homes.

As Junsu readied his bike by the small stand, Hyukjae repeatedly practiced his confession.

"I love you may be a little too strong... I.. I always liked you more than a friend?" He closed his eyes and crossed his fingers. "Please don't think of me as a brother. I want to be more than that."

He opened his eyes, surprised to see Junsu staring at him. Hyukjae was about to ask what happened when he saw his reflection.

Junsu had read his lips from the dark tinted windows.

"I-I... Damn it." This wasn't how he imagined him knowing.

Junsu gestured his hands.

Really?

Hyukjae froze.

Junsu gave an uneasy look, almost afraid. Do you not feel that way?

When Hyukjae hadn't answered, Junsu hurriedly took his bike out when Hyukjae reached out to stop him.

"Of course I do." He uttered. "It's impossible not to."

Junsu blinked, intently studying Hyukjae's expression.

He then reached for something in his pocket. Hyukjae watched as Junsu took out and placed a shell in his hands, with a small yet shy smile as he gestured.

I do too.
