So I very recently have decided to get back into miniature wargaming. Specifically Battletech! I haven't played this since I really got all burned out back in the early 90's. Some of you might know, but most wouldn't. That I and my friends used to playtest and demo at cons for FASA back in the early 90's. Our first book was "Objective Raids", so yeah, we were there when the clans invaded the inner sphere. Fortunately we left just when they added that stupid alien race/species in a human centric universe. Which they quickly distanced themselves from shortly after its release.
Back in the day, I was able to field a full RCT (Regimental Combat Team). Which pretty much amounted to quite a number of mini's. Figure there was over 120 mini's in the assembled army. Over the years I gave many of them away to friends to use/have. I really didn't care back then. I was completely through with it all. Three years of convention after convention, demo after demo, does that to you. So here I am trying to rebuild another unit again. I forgot just exactly how much money I had wrapped up in owning them. LOL. Now I remember just how much, as I've just recently bought my first company. I know that the prices have gone up a little, but just that has cost me a small fortune.
Now for more fun when they finally get here. I get to paint them. I'll have to come up with another regimental paint scheme. Fortunately now you can get cool decals to really make them look impressive. We didn't have that back then. Before I would have to paint any such emblems. And believe me, that was a time consuming pain in the butt.
That's it for now, catch ya'll later. :)
