This sentence alone tore me down and then lifted me right back up again! Can you say roller coaster?! lol
And on to the rest! John's anger at Elizabeth... I think that moment was the first time I actually 'heard' his voice in my head. Every time after that I could literally hear his voice in my head. I guess that cements the idea that the old John is back huh? lol Which is just a really cool effect that I doubt you intended but happened anyway.
The moment outside of holding was incredibly heartbreaking for the sheer fact that they were morning the near loss of their kids, the tangible bond that's brought them back together. John carrying Teyla back to quarters was adorable. I really liked the whole scene with the boots and socks too. Those mundane actions really add to a stories realism, makes you feel like it's really happening before your eyes.
As for John pulling away and wanting them sleeping together to be more than just 'near-end-of-the-world' sex... Now that is a good man right there! Any guy who can do that is someone you should never let go. He really does love her, really wants things to work out and you portrayed that beautifully. Course then you go and tease me with that ending! I know, I know, you've only written one semi-sex scene but grr! I think I've been spoiled by Ed & Kim's smut. lol!
Really great chapter nytel, well worth the wait!

-- I'm glad it had that effect. :)

-- Yeah! I'm really happy that you can hear him now. And it does cement the fact that the old John is back. And yeah, it wasn't really intended, but I'm glad it happened like that.

--Thanks. I tried to make it as different as possible from the scene in "When You're Sick"

-- I'm so glad you said that, because it's exactly what I was going for.

--Yes, he does. They really need to understand that.

-- Lol, yeah. But I can guarantee you that this story will go no higher than PG-13. It started out that way and it's so near the end that I don't want to change it.
Thanks for all the lovely feedback. :)
