Dollhouse - 201 - Vows
So last night I made the mistake of watching Dollhouse with my roommate. I got her hooked on the show sometime last March, which is kind of good, because I love pimping my TV shows. But this means that we now watch it together when it airs, and she has the bad habit of talking/asking questions during the episode. I on the other hand would much rather sit there in silence and get completely absorbed by the episode. Last night was exceptionally bad because about ten minutes in she realized she managed to never watch Omega, and therefore huge parts didn't make sense. Which meant I got to spend quite some time explaining it to her. *headdesk* Needless to say I rewatched the episode this morning so that I could fully appreciate it. Much better the second time around.
I really liked it, though I'm sure that doesn't exactly come as much of a surprise. Lol.
The Good!
• Bamber!!! Um yeah, I missed him. :D Plus? British Bamber = ♥
• Topher and Ballard are frenemies! *g*
• Awesome new opening credits
• Dewitt authorizing Victor's scar removal. Spurred on by past events maybe? ;)
• I loved the way she was caressing his face, tracing the scars, looking so peaceful, yet all the while she was talking about ordering Boyd to "do something extreme".
• The little Sierra bit in the imprint room was awesome. Not really with much of a point, but awesome nonetheless. But, maybe not extremely pointless... wasn't this the outfit she was wearing during one of the Epitaph One flashbacks?
• I'm a little excited to see where this Senator storyline goes. Not totally enthralled yet, but I think if Joss keeps being Joss I could definitely get there.
• Boyd/Saunders - I'm intrigued by this, but in almost a weird sort of curiosity way, not a 'I ship them way'. Of course that could change.
• Though Boyd's line of "I'm very tall" made by smile. :)
• I loved the scene in the hangar bay. (Is that even what it's called in real life? Maybe I'm just stuck in BSG terminology. Lol.) But Ballard forcing Echo to glitch to that one imprint was beyond awesome.
• Echo is evolving. This is really interesting, especially since it's fairly obvious Ballard's never going to reveal the secret to Dewitt et al. I like that although there's a Caroline personality, there's now also a distinct Echo personality too. "I'm all of them, but none of them is me".
• Topher lives at the Dollhouse? Also very interesting.
• Claire and Topher - this was by far the best part of the whole episode for me. The rats, and the creeping into his bed. Topher's explanation for everything... Guh. This makes me love Topher so much more. I also feel so sorry for Claire too. Now, did she leave, leave? Or did she just go outside?
• Best line from the episode: "My entire existence was constructed by a sociopath in a sweater vest. What do you suggest I do?"
The Not-So-Good
• A small mention of November/Mellie/Madeline, but that's it. *pouts* I know, I know, I should have expected it. But... she's my favorite!
• I can't say I was loving Adelle's new hair. I know this is rather nitpicky, but I liked it better long. *shrugs*
