Recent events have left me somewhat confused and in a difficult position. As a Dodgers fan, I find myself in the odd situation of feeling a need to defend the Dodgers' hated rivals, the San Francisco Giants.

Allow me to explain. The Giants haven't been doing that well lately (neither have the Dodgers, but that's another entry.)

Bleh. After I went to the trouble of defending Rafael Palmeiro's Hall of Fame chances yesterday, he gets suspended for testing positive for steroids.

I'm hoping it's all a mistake or some bad supplement like he says, but it looks like (another) dark day for baseball fans.

Watched the Baseball Hall of Fame induction ceremonies yesterday, just like we do every year. Lots of jersey-wearing fans, lots of handmade signs and banners.

Peter Gammons was great. I firmly believe you couldn't hear his speech and not be moved. I always look forward to seeing Gammons on "Baseball Tonight," and his Beyond the Sixth Game is on ( Read more... )
